COVID Safe App
Overview
I created an app to spread awareness of Covid-19 and provide information on preventative methods and how to get tested to encourage safety from the virus around the world.
Problem Statement
Many people who are searching for Covid information have to find multiple resources to access all of the information they’re looking for. This causes wasted time and a lack of the full understanding of Covid-19 as it pertains to the most current information around the world including live updates, testing sites and preventative methods.
Goals & Objectives
The goal of this app is to bring awareness to the most current information about Covid-19 worldwide, as well as making it easier to find testing sites and get tested locally or in the comfort of your own home via at home testing kits.
Research
To gather information on creating the Covid-19 healthcare app, I reviewed 3 separate Covid-19 related apps. I took note of the aspects of these apps that I saw worked well and wanted to implement in the Covid-19 healthcare app that I was creating. I also asked a couple of people what their main concerns were surrounding the Covid-19 virus and took note of this to address those concerns in the app build.
Initial Wireframes
Looked at what we currently had in Green Sheets Dynamics compared to the updated version in Salesforce to get an idea for what we needed to update on the Dynamics platform.
Solving the problem
I attempted to incorporate the most important information surrounding the coronavirus available in one app. This includes travel information and requirements, live stats on Covid-19, the latest news on the virus and an area to view symptoms for those who may be at risk.
I also implemented two separate ways that you can get tested which include finding a local testing site or ordering an at home Covid test kit. If you order the test kit, you can also track your order to see when it will arrive. Once your results are ready, you can view your status in the app as well.
Lo-Fi Wireframes
Next, I took my findings from my research and sketches and started to implement lo-fi wireframes that incorporated all of the necessary elements in the app.
Final Wireframes
Once the lo-fi wireframes were done and I had a solid idea of all of the requirements needed in the app, I created the final hi-fi mock ups.
The Results
With people having access to the C-19 Healthcare app, more people will be properly informed of Covid-19 and will be aware of what precautions to take to stop the spread of the virus worldwide. Also, with the app providing information on how and where to get tested, more people will be able to get tested as needed in a timely manner so they can be aware of their status as soon as possible. Less delays means there’s less of a chance of spreading the virus from those who don’t know they have it. This app embodies the perfect solution with your one-stop-shop for COVID-19 information.
