I worked in collaboration with other designers and project managers to create a simplified solution for Walmart employees to view their paystubs online.
Walmart associates did not have a simple way to view their paystub from their mobile devices. The process to access this was not very simple and the experience was not mobile native.
We needed to address how we can make paystubs easily accessible no matter what device the user views them on.
After thoroughly analyzing the data such as pain points, user needs, paystub requirements and company guidelines; we discovered that employees want to be able to access their full paystub details from anywhere with full functionality on desktop, tablet and mobile.
Initially we tried to determine the best way to display the paystub information to suit the needs of the user. We realized that the content in our original design needed to look more organized so that the most important information was easy to read and navigate.
We also wanted to look at different scenarios that may occur when the user is navigating the app. For example if an employee needed a check replacement, there was a failed payment, or if no paystub was found.
After discussing the initial wireframes with stakeholders, we agreed on a few revisions that would improve the usability of the paystubs. These changes include:
After implementing the changes, I finalized the paystub designs which resulted in easy to use and visually appealing paystubs that are mobile friendly with all of the updates that users were requesting.
This redesign focused on simplifying the layout, improving accessibility, and using plain language to enhance comprehension across all employee levels. As a result, the user experience significantly improved, leading to:
